Magic Fit® blends the hard science of anthropometry with the art of draping cloth over the human body. We analysed the biometric data of 196 million data points from over 8,000 people and 2,000 manual tailoring sessions in our first shop to create the statistical foundation of the algorithm.
How we built the 196M data foundation
Elegant mathematics are amazing, but there's really no substitute for human experience. We're constantly doing IRL fittings with people of different heights, weights, and body shapes to build up our datasets and enhance the statistical model. We literally see what works (and what doesn't) on all body shapes and sizes, and continually finesse the tolerances to improve accuracy.
Patternmakers and the factory: how we train the model
Sure, we could ask more questions including "what did you have for breakfast" for a fraction more accuracy. But after 9 years of testing and refining at Citizen Wolf, we know that fewer questions means more customers getting to size confidence faster, ultimately driving more conversions.
